Bathgate Roadway

Taking electrical service to campus buildings

Our MEP team designs electrical systems once the electrical is brought to a building. Bringing that electrical service to the building in the first place is the expertise of our civil engineering team. In order to provide more electricity to buildings along Bathgate Roadway, we designed a new concrete-encased electrical conduit bank and gas main extension. The design included approximately 1,200 LF of new 15kv and 5kv electrical conduit duct banks.

One of the challenges of the project was to accommodate for an existing utility tunnel along the project site. Our civil team and electrical team put their heads together in order to come up with a solution that crossed the duct bank under the utility tunnel. This meant that a steel sleeve for the electrical conduit was designed to go beneath the tunnel.

And because the project isn’t done until the street is a usable street, we included a design for the resurfacing Bathgate Avenue.
