Comcast had an opportunity to convert underutilized space within an existing Richmond facility into a new telecommunications head-end room to support continued network expansion. To support the new high-density telecom infrastructure, the project required redundant cooling systems and supporting utility upgrades within a building originally designed for retail and administrative use. Because the facility supports Comcast’s regional telecommunications network, delivering permit drawings within a 3.5-week timeframe, from project kick-off, was critical to meeting the project schedule and budget.
