Concrete Batch Plant Site & Utility Infrastructure Planning

  • Industrial
  • Capitol Heights, MD
100-foot-tallprecast concrete batch plant supported through site utility design
75,000-gallon on-site heated water capacity required for concrete production
5-inchdomestic water service designed for continuous, 24/7 operation
20+ electricalconnection points coordinated outside of the plant manufacture's scope

ABOUT THE PROJECT

We are supporting a concrete manufacturer with the planning and utility infrastructure design for a new concrete batch plant intended to expand regional concrete production capacity. The facility will serve as a centralized production hub where raw materials are mixed and loaded into trucks for delivery to construction projects throughout the Maryland region.

OUR SOLUTION

Our team is providing services focused on site readiness and utility coordination to support batch plant installation. Our scope includes:

  • Designing electrical infrastructure to deliver power from the main electrical room to multiple plant connection points outside of the precast manufacturer’s scope.
  • Engineering high-capacity domestic water service to support continuous concrete mixing operations, including coordination for a large-diameter water service designed to operate at sustained flow rates.
  • Designing natural gas service to support on-site heating systems required for concrete production.
  • Providing plumbing design for multiple process water connection points throughout the site.
  • Supporting mechanical ventilation for the batch plant enclosure through exhaust fans and makeup air louvers to maintain airflow within the tall plant structure.
  • Coordinating site utility interfaces so prefabricated plant components can be installed efficiently.

THE IMPACT

Our work lays the groundwork for a new industrial facility that positions the client to support construction and infrastructure development.
