INTERNATIONAL WOMEN IN ENGINEERING 2022

Today is International Women in Engineering Day (INWED)! INWED began with a national campaign by the Women’s Engineering Society in 2014. While it started in the UK, it has grown to become a day celebrated internationally. It’s one that we look forward to every year!

Do you know the percentage of engineers that are women? Statistics from June 2021 estimate that about 16.5% of engineers are women. This makes it the STEM field where women are the most highly underrepresented. So the goal of this day is to raise the visibility of those engineers. It’s also important in encouraging young women to pursue the field.

Last year, the theme was #engineeringheroes. So, women from our team highlighted their personal heroes. This year, The Women’s Engineering Society is looking toward the future at all women who will change the industry for the better. We are proud that 31% of our team are women in business and engineering roles, almost double the average. And we believe all these women are forward-thinking, inspirational, and work together to transform building infrastructure and environments to transform business. A big thank you to every single one of them!
