Founded
Our story began with a road trip and an idea: to build an engineering and consulting firm that approaches design with a business mindset. We opened our doors with two offices, three employees, and a commitment to think beyond technical drawings to help our clients make better decisions for their businesses and their people.
2005
IT Consulting
Recognizing the growing role of technology in buildings, we expanded our services to include IT, AV, and security consulting. Today, we design smarter, more connected, and more secure environments that support the demands of the modern workplace.
2007
Our Motto
We launched our motto, Improving the Way Things are Done™, to reflect our culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement, especially through the smart use of technology to enhance efficiency in design and implementation.
2009
Commissioning
We added commissioning to help clients verify performance, optimize building systems, and get the most value from their investments. It improves how buildings are designed and ensures they operate at their best.
2012
Rebrand
We refreshed our brand to better reflect who we are. That included updating our name to WB Engineers+Consultants, evolving our logo, and transitioning from burgundy and navy to a new palette of dusk orange and warm gray.
2013
Our First Intern Class
We launched our intern program to invest in future talent. Now, many of our team members started here as interns - a testament to how we invest in people, support career growth, and promote from within.
2020
ESOP
We transitioned to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), making every team member an owner. This milestone deepened our culture of shared accountability and personal investment in client success.
2021
Practice Areas
We formalized leadership across four core practice areas - Building Optimization, Critical Facilities, Science & Technology, and Technical Advisory – where we do our best work and make the most impact for our clients.

25th Anniversary
We celebrated 25 years of transforming businesses, building smarter infrastructure, and growing a team that’s passionate about doing meaningful work. While our client list has grown since 1999, we've stayed true to our entrepreneurial roots, grounded in our core values of quality, extreme ownership, and teamwork.
