A little bit of luck
Like so many marketers in our industry, professional services marketing wasn’t what Julie envisioned for her career (she wanted to be a travel writer). She was working in a writing position and not looking for a new job. But opportunity knocked – and she found what she calls ‘an amazing career.’
15 years later…
What initially attracted Julie to WB was the leadership team’s commitment to continuous improvement. That has meant that the ideas she came up with then (when she was the sole marketer) were met with the same response that her ideas are met with today (when she is responsible for communications and marketing). And that response is, ‘go for it.’
A great lesson
Julie has been on the board of directors for SMPS-NY (a 300-member professional marketing organization) for over ten years, serving as director of communications, a member of the executive committee, and president.
