We provided MEP and IT consulting services for this renovation and infrastructure upgrade project. The 142 guestroom hotel is Boston’s oldest, continuously operating hotel and is a local landmark.

The guestroom corridor and lobby renovations included new specialty lighting and life safety systems. The guestrooms were also updated with new plumbing fixtures. The updates to the life safety systems included a new fire alarm system and modern, quick response residential sprinklers.

We also designed a new generator and boilers for the hotel, and relocated the main water riser. The generator supports the new elevator and emergency lighting. The outdated and inefficient 4000 MBH steam boiler was replaced with two high efficiency 2000 MBH hot water boilers. By moving the main water riser, a new elevator shaft could be added to the hotel.
