ABOUT THE PORTFOLIO

Through our 10-year+ partnership with AstraZeneca, our team has supported the modernization of their Gaithersburg, Maryland research campus. Since 2014, AstraZeneca has partnered with our team to support advanced biologics and oncology research. We design safe environments aligned with their corporate sustainability goals.

THE SOLUUTION

We have worked with AstraZeneca to:

  • Design BL2 laboratories, specialized chemistry and biologics spaces, and pilot-scale manufacturing environments.
  • Provide decarbonization and energy modeling services that improved operational efficiency and optimized capital allocation.
  • Implement building upgrades including HVAC system replacements, lighting calculations, and site-wide infrastructure studies.
  • Support campus enhancements such as office renovations, executive conference centers, and lobby and campus security upgrades.
  • Manage multi-discipline teams, including sub-consultants (architects, lab planners, manufacturing planners, process engineers, structural, and civil engineers), to coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and security systems across the campus.
  • Deliver commissioning, retro-commissioning, and field support to verify performance, ensure safe operations, and improve energy-efficiency.
  • Integrate sustainable design strategies to help AstraZeneca meet its long-term net zero and energy goals.
