From intern to senior associate
Tom joined WB as our first intern and now has a leadership role on our team as a senior mechanical engineer. He is also one of our leading experts on energy modeling. Tom spends a lot of time getting to know the interns and offers excellent guidance on following the path from standout intern to an impressive senior associate.
A memorable project
Seven years ago, when Tom first started working on the redevelopment of One Soho Square, he was one of the mechanical engineers. As the scope of the project expanded, so has Tom’s role on it. He is now in a project management role. Considered one of NYC’s most unusual office buildings, the project involves merging a 14-story office building with a 10-story industrial loft on a shared core.
What does a typical day look like?
There is no typical day for Tom as every day presents itself with a new challenge and opportunity for growth. Tom likes to start his morning answering emails, catching up on his priority list, and answering deliverables. He then spends a lot of the afternoon all over the city on site visits.
