This week we welcomed thirteen interns to our Class of 2019 summer program. Our interns traveled to our Boston office where they spent their first week in training sessions. They received an overview of what life at WB is like as well as training to their specific disciplines.
On Monday, the interns heard from our Chief Operating Officer, Michael Quigley about WB and why the intern program is an important part of our company. Also, he discussed what not only the interns can get out of it but also what our employees will gain this summer.
Through the course of the week, our interns had technical training to better understand the fundamentals of each of our engineering disciplines. As well as, Revit training, 3D Scanning training, and were introduced to our QA/QC process. One of the highlights was a tour of our office building’s main building systems by the chief engineer.
Our intern ambassadors, a group of our team members in each of our
offices, assisted the program through teaching and demonstrating our processes.
The ambassadors will work with the interns throughout the summer for all things
The week wasn’t entirely educational, they got to know each other
– and us – through through social events such as breakfasts, dinners, bowling
and a night out.
As the interns return to their respective offices in Boston, DC,
East Bay, CA and New York we wish them best! And thank you to our team members
that were involved in the weeklong training.
