Meet the WB team
Working at WB, 1999 - 2008
When I first joined WB, I had the opportunity to develop my engineering and management skills under some of the strongest engineering minds in the industry. I learned the nuances of project delivery and how every decision made for our clients had an impact on the “project triad” – scope, schedule and cost.
Building our NJ office
In 2008, I decided to realize my dream of starting my own firm. I was a sole proprietor for eight years. This experience made me appreciate having a team. Wearing all the corporate hats opened my eyes to the importance of having the support of colleagues. And my experience with WB and on my own is really helpful as I work to build and manage our New Jersey office.
A favorite project
My favorite project was the disposition of client owned 500,000 sq. ft. multi-use facility. The occupants of the building needed to be relocated into three buildings in two boroughs. Each facility had its intricacies: one facility was landmarked, another was a call center and the third was data center which housed critical E911 equipment. It was complex and the schedule was tight. It felt good to deliver to the client under budget and three weeks early.
An architect in engineering
I’m a New Yorker, but was schooled in FL. My summer jobs always revolved around construction. I always got the dirty jobs, but I still loved it. I studied architecture at the University of Florida. A job was tough to come by for a graduate with no experience. I took an interview with one of the largest engineering firms in New York, figuring that I would get a job in the field to build experience. My interviewer that day was Vincent Warner and thankfully he saw something in me; we’ve worked closely for my entire professional career.
Why I hope my girls study engineering
My girls are pretty amazing; I would love for them to become engineers if for no other reason I would be able to spend more time with them. But really, as I explained to my oldest daughter who is about to start college: no matter what you decide on as a career – if you do it well you will always be successful.
Our founders. Our leaders. The visionaries. The people who take the final ownership for our work. David, Vinny, Peter, Peter, Mike, Tom and Craig have a great balance of experience and ideas. They are Improving The Way Things Are Done everyday, and making sure that we do, too.
