Rolling up their sleeves and getting the job done

Our commissioning team really loves to roll up their sleeves and figure out how to make MEP systems work. They certainly had a chance to do just that while commissioning this new three story building. The building included a large laboratory, community room, private offices, and common areas.

We performed enhanced commissioning services required by the USGBC, LEED for New Construction rating system. We were involved in the project from the initial design phases, reviewing the design documents, drawings and schedule from a commissioning perspective. This was to ensure that the designs not only looked great on paper, but that they would be functional too.

A major part of our commissioning responsibility is to be the client’s technical eyes and ears on a project. We take technical information and make it easy for them to understand, so that they can make smart decisions about their project. We spent a lot of time in the field testing systems, and then a lot of time with SUNY Orange’s stakeholders explaining what was happening with their project.

After our testing processes were completed and installation modifications made as necessary We also supervised the operations staff training and prepared an Operations Manual for commissioned equipment.
